History:
    BACKGROUND ; WEBSITE

-- Early Childhood ; The boy Genius
Itachi was born under the Uchiha clan, to Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha as the oldest son. He was four years old when he first experienced the ill fortunes of war that would inevitably leave him scarred and traumatized. Itachi learned the pain of death, the true definition of sacrifice, and eventually, just how much suffering one had to go through to gain peace. Tt was this hard lesson that molded him into the man he was bound to become.

He was aware of the families history that made their clan so feared. The most memorable beginning of the Uchiha’s greatness went back to the time before the establishment and creation of his village when his clan fought against their rivaling clan (the Senju) protecting their honor by any means necessary. It did not matter how many bodies were laid on the earth, how much blood was spilled across the lands- their stubbornness for superiority had always blinded the clan. Over the years when Itachi was born and grew, he saw just how powerful the Sharingan could really be and always kept it in his conciseness that the ultimate weapon he had inherited was both a blessing and a curse: it all depended on what you used it for.

On that tragic day when he was four years old, when his eyes looked upon a field of burning bodies and death, he told himself he wanted to change things, he wanted to end the possibility for the tragedies of war. But to what ends he was planning to accomplish this would eventually be chosen in his later years.

Later years ; And more Tragedy
Growing up was quite a feat. Itachi’s childhood had ended with that traumatic scene of war, and the birth of his little brother Sasuke when he was five.

The day his brother was born, Itachi made another promise to himself. He would not allow his brother to witness the horrors he had once faced, he wanted to keep him away from war. He did not want Sasuke to grow up arrogant and weak as his clan had become- he wanted him to be one of a kind: humble and honest.

Through deaths and rivalries, Itachi wanted to become someone else, someone who would apply a change. He did not want to see war in the world, he wanted peace. By the age of seven he had graduated from school and by eight had almost fully mastered the arts of the Sharingan. When he turned thirteen, he was placed as the captain of the ANBU by the Third Hokage, the second-highest rank in the village.

His father considered him the prodigy of the Uchiha clan and more often then not, kept more to Itachi then his other son Sasuke. As much as his father paid attention to him, Itachi always made it a point to help his little brother. If there was someone he loved unconditionally, it was him. This undying affection and respect would later cause the worst trouble Itachi could have asked for.

It all started with his ancestors and their blood lines undying anger as previously discussed.

During the days before Konoha had been established, the Uchiha clan began to have some trouble with their rival clan: the Senju clan. At the time, Uchiha Madara had been in charge of the on-going rivalry and had caused so much destruction between the two. A time finally came when the two clans ceased fire and created a 'peace treaty' which would seize all fighting between the two clans. Madara, fearing that the Senju clan could not keep their word, grew very spiteful and eventually led to the rage that ended up consuming him when Hashirama Senju became the First Hokage. He soon left the country unable to live under the command of such a man, his own people disregarding him.

While Konoha was founded, the Uchiha clan was still thought to be rather dangerous. After all, they had been rivals for so long that years later when the Kyuubi attacked Konoha; the same one that would eventually be sealed inside Naruto, the village suspected the Uchiha clan of setting it loose on them. They reached this conclusion because the Sharingan has the ability to control it- they are a fire based clan. Many of the people in the Uchiha clan were enraged that any form of suspicion had been thrown their way and it slowly started to turn into anger. Again, the clan became blinded by pride and it led some members to create a secret group with the intent of overthrowing Konoha. The elders of the village began to suspect this and; under the jurisdiction of the Third Hokage, sent a spy among the Uchiha Itachi.

Itachi had surpassed many, he was considered the most gifted youth. Not only was he incredibly strong on his own, the sharingan was but another lethal weapon. Itachi had sensed his clans evil plotting and had warned the third as soon as possible. At first, the village elders had not taken him seriously due to their bias nature against the Uchiha, but the Third managed to make them understand. After that, they began taking precaution in the protection of Itachi himself and the village. In order to secure Itachi's safety from his own clan if anything were ever discovered, and to ail the hearts of the Uchiha clan from feeling disowned with the accusations against the Kyuubi attack, the Third ordered Itachi to be placed as ANBU captain. At the age of thirteen. Surely, if there was anyone ready or set for the job of finding out the true intentions of the Uchiha's, it would be him. He stayed under secrecy and eventually began to feel the pain of truth.

The Uchiha clan was indeed planning to overthrow Konoha. No matter how much Itachi tried to change their views, they wouldn't budge. It merely led to the rest of his clan disliking him. It was a big hit on a personal level. He had become a strong shinobi in order to protect and serve his clan and country... but his clan wanted to ruin all of those ideals for something as petty as a damaged honor. Was he in the right if he stayed with his clan? No, he felt that despite the suspicions that were thrown against his clan, their movements to overthrow an established government was going to far. He eventually made up his mind that his clan had clearly forgotten what it meant to be a shinobi. They hid behind a clans name and symbol with its strength, but alone they were nothing. Itachi lost all hope of ever changing the arrogance of his clan. He finally told the Third Hokage what his clan intended to do and the elders said there was no other way- the Uchiha clan was too dangerous to have alive. Even his best friend and close ally, Uchiha Shisui, was trying help him. Unfortunately tragedy befell upon him before anything could be done. Itachi had no choice but to face it himself.

The order to completely annihilate the Uchiha clan was rather devastating, but Itachi felt there was no other way to bring peace. Whether he left Konoha in the hands of his clan or in the hands of the elders, their fate would be the same. The Uchiha were too stubborn and any peace compromise would have fallen on deaf years. Itachi, from his many experiences and trauma’s, understood his own clans strength. His only request was for his younger brother to be kept alive and to know nothing of what happened. He feared that if he were to know about the incident of their clan he would grow cold. Instead, he persuaded the Third into letting him believe that his clan had truly been noble despite the fact Itachi mercilessly killed them all. Around this time he came in contact once more with Madara who had now grown a resentment and loathing to the Uchiha's but a likable interest in the prodigal heir to the Uchiha clan. Itachi agreed to help him slaughter their clan in exchange for Konoha's safety and at once, their deed was set into motion.

Itachi couldn't kill his brother, he loved him too much to bear. He saw what would come in the future, how Sasuke would live without knowing, without a purpose, so he infused the traces of revenge in his heart by showing him through his genjutsu just how he had brutally killed everyone. He felt that like this, he would become strong and have a cause. The thought was a horrible one that only fed that emotional isolation he tends to feel, but it kept him alive. He knew a day would come when he would see Sasuke again. He also gained his new Sharingan through all of this. The few times in his life that Itachi ever shed tears have always been for his little brother. For weeks after Madara and himself slaughtered the clan, he could not sleep and the tears kept coming. He was only a child after all. The happy memories his brother had given him, that they had lived together, would end.

Adulthood ; Traitor and S-class criminal
With his deed done, he left Konoha as a criminal, hated and loathed by everyone despite the fact he had just saved Konoha from anarchy. Sasuke would forever live his life trying to seek revenge on his brother. He would go on believing that Itachi simply killed the clan to test his capacity as a powerful shinobi and spared his life for the mere consequence of watching him suffer and taking his eyes for his own immortality. It was tragic indeed.

In later years, he joined the Akatsuki, waiting for the day when he would meet with his brother again and keeping tabs on the criminals that composed the organization. During this time, he became acquainted with Orochimaru and felt that Orochimaru's hatred for Konoha would be a problem. At once, he began to plot the final confrontation between his brother and himself that would lead to the death of the potential threat Orochimaru and the restoration of honor on the Uchiha name.

During his time in the Akatsuki, he was placed with another member as his team mate: Hoshigaki Kisame. If there was anyone ever close enough to be a friend like his long-since departed Shisui, it was him. The two grew a mutual bond. Unlike Madara, who continued to use and abuse his own family, Kisame was stern but he shared some respect. He made things a bit more bearable.

He had seen his younger brother a few times and was always keeping an eye on him. He knew Orochimaru was interested in Sasuke because of his past interest with himself but at the moment, he had been set to capture Naruto in order for the Akatsuki to obtain the Kyuubi. Of course, because capturing Naruto means that the Kyuubi would be in the possession of the organization, he always stalls. During this time, he has also become sick with an unknown disease (OOC: I swear, it's like TB or just some atrophy of the lungs) that has also kept him fighting for his life. He will not die until his brother takes his eyes.

Personality:
Itachi is a man of many troubles. Depending on the situation, he'll adapt to the certain ambiance. For example, if there is hostility in the air, Itachi can very much become the S-Ranked criminal he is feared to be. If the moments are calm and peaceful, he has no problem being kind... even if he calls it having some mercy. Despite the fact every one believed him to be an emotionless killer, he is quite the opposite. Emotions were always the over-all downfall of this man, he cared too much and feared the laws of breaking orders. He never, however, feared death or sacrifice. The day he became the spy against his own clan was the day he emotionally began to fall.

In a sense, Itachi always believed in peace no matter how troubled the times were. He understands perfectly well the balances of power and what happens when power is used incorrectly. Rationality, logic, and intelligence are virtues he respects highly and holds true to. Organization along with duty are two aspects that he deems necessary for peace to exist. Along side that, a person might consider him rather optimistic but, even so, his mentality only comes from the complete analysis of a situation. If he sees something wrong, like a flaw in the upcoming events, he might very much think twice of going on. Itachi understands the meaning of surrender. He prefers a more diplomatic and intelligent fix then actual fighting over it. He's been so traumatized of war.

Around people, he can be rather quiet but it doesn't mean he isn't much of a talker. His sociable attitude all depends on the person he'll be exchanging words with. If he's surrounded by ignorance then he will most likely stay silent in attempts to show the person a lesson in manners or simply to give them a hint he's not interested. One can consider him to hold a sense of humor despite the probable truth that one will probably never see or hear him laugh- he's been so emotionally scarred.

How he acts with people also depends on who he's with. For example, had there been someone of the Akatsuki about while he saw someone in need, he would more than likely ignore the person with out a glance yet, were he alone, the possibility that he would approach with a helping hand would be greater. Considering he's surrounded by his fellow members of the Akatsuki, he feels like he has to keep that vision of evil and strength the others carry despite the fact he can live without a fight.

Fears:
Although war is clearly inevitable, his fear is possibly seeing his brother go off the bad end. As much as he respects his brother's decision and how he doesn't regret his actions, he still can't ignore the sacrifice's that were made in the past to get to this point. He doesn't fear never being forgiven or even being detested by his brother, but if he ever learned how lost Sasuke was in the mind he would probably feel very terrible. It was not his intention.

Weaknesses:
A physical weakness is that too much use of his Sharingan will eventually lead him to blindness. His powers have, at some point, caught up to just how human he can be. The amount of chakra a normal Sharingan uses is enough to leave an experienced shinobi like Kakashi exhausted so when a Sharingan has been multiplied, it takes up much more chakra that eventually begins withering the eyesight. A health weakness is also some type of illness he seems to have gotten that has also taken up portions of his chakra.

Those undying emotions for others and peace have always held him down with ill thoughts. He is very fond of his little brother and will stop at nothing to see him into victory along with the revenge of his clan. His weakness and obsession will always and forever be his younger brother Sasuke. Everything he does and everything that drives him revolves around Sasuke. He gave up his freedom for him and his life- there's nothing he wouldn't do for him.

Mundane Strengths/Abilities:
    Shinobi Training
Every shinobi has gone through special training that involves strength building, speed enhancing, and in this case chakra manipulation. Itachi is skilled in both hand and weapon combat on various levels. His chakra levels are incredibly high and his abilities and techniques rank in some of the highest. Considering how he was able to make it to the second highest rank in the shinobi world (ANBU Captain) he has the potential to be a deadly foe.

Sensitivity/Magical Ability:
    Sharingan
Itachi was born to the Uchiha clan and is a pure blooded wielder of the infamous Sharingan. He has the strength and dexterity to anticipate attacks and counter them. It takes amazing stamina and strength to be able to take the effects of the Sharingan because it eventually uses up chakra. Itachi has become an expert wielder of his clans legacy.

Because he is a true Uchiha, he has the mastery of the fire element. Most, not all, of his attacks will fall by his fire mastery.

    Mangekyo Sharingan
Can be explained as a 'next level' sharingan he gained when he murdered a man he considered a friend. The process can be known as "stealing your eyes" as they like to call it, one literally gains the power of the other. He is able to hold two strong types of genjutsu and ninjitsu. On his right eye he can do Amatarasu (ninjitsu) which creates a burning ball of black flames that can literally be controlled by him and burn through anything. His left eye has Tsukuyomi (genjutsu) which traps a person in Itachi's dream world where they will suffer three days of torture while in reality only passing a single second in the real world.

The last and final technique is the most dangerous: Susanoo. With this, Itachi has the ability to lock someone forever in a genjutsu state by attacking with a spectral blade. It uses most of his chakra but it can be a finishing move to anyone (for example, Orochimaru).

Supply List:
A ninja satchel composed of assorted kunai, shuriken, extra bandage, small supply of medicinal herbs, two ninja scrolls, and loose seal.

Sample RP post:
The rain never ceased for what appeared to be ages now. Drop after drop, shower after shower- the heavens above them wept with no sign of condolence or end. Like many curious things in the Uchiha’s every-day life, this was a bad omen.

Somewhere behind him from where he was perched, he heard the shuffling of fabric as his partner moved about to and fro in the apartment they had checked into during their stay in a small town. To Itachi's surprise and amusement, the rain had made his comrade an impatient wreck seeing as they were forced to stay inside because of Itachi. Kisame had not uttered retort or complaint about it, but Itachi sensed it. The air about him seemed to carry a small tinge of anxiety and sternness in relation to the peaceful ambiance Itachi had been trying to reach for however many days they had been here for.

    "Kisame, what's wrong?"

His voice sounded hoarse and emotionless from lack of talking, he had no reason to speak. His comrade said nothing and responded with irate mumblings about searching for ‘the child’ before the door closed shut behind him. The room went silent again and the anxiety Kisame had left behind temporarily made its last show before fading away with the gentle rumble of rain at their window.

Whether something was wrong with his companion or not, Itachi knew he would undoubtedly never know about. The two were partners but their relationship was simply business. No one spoke of emotions, that was just simply unheard of in their trade. What did you expect from a crowd of murderers? Itachi learned to ignore how inhumane it made things seem. He had learned to ignore a lot of things.

They had been staying in this place since Itachi had used up most of his chakra at the last fight, he had set his mind to meditating in order to gain back his strength a little faster faster. Kisame had become impatient and kept reminding him of how careless it had been with those foolish over-protective retorts his partner made sure to claim; as if the man knew more of the curse Itachi was struck with than he did. The memory made Itachi smirk, his comrades' actions were not annoying, simply ironic. Who would have thought that even the most horribly heartless criminals could care enough about anything that wasn't theirs?

Thunder rumbled in the heavens as he moved to open the window panes in attempts to let a small breeze of cool air in. It was rather nourishing, fresh air helped sorting that peaceful ambiance into place. Itachi didn't like the moisture in the air but the sound of rain was far too relaxing to ignore. Red eyes surveyed the street below.

Various umbrellas loomed about like floating ghosts as the rain fell on them. Like a mourning funeral, every black top moved at the same speed, in lines. How pathetic, he thought to himself bringing a hand below his chin as he leaned on the sill. Everyone walks forward in life not knowing, not caring…

A tendril of color joined the black masses, it started as a blur due to his faulting eyesight but then, gradually, he realized it was an umbrella. Red. It stood out over the looming ghosts and even defied the norms and picked up its speed. The curious sight caught his attention and he continued to follow it before realizing it was a child, he moved the umbrella from over his dark hair and Itachi could see him looking up, mesmerized by the rain.

The child looked up as the rain poured over him, the umbrella forgotten at his wrist. He laughed, he danced, he played- and Itachi heaved a heavy sigh. He remembered when that child could have passed as his little brother, with that same wild craze for adventure, a smile from ear to ear... He was lost in memories of the past when the door swung open and Kisame appeared, ecstatic about something. For a few brief seconds, Itachi stared at him confused.

"Victory!" He exclaimed sticking his head in beckoning his comrade to follow. "They're on the move!"

And just like that, any emotions of the past left him and he became Itachi, the murderer of the Uchiha clan, in a second. He looked out the window and glared at the child as a parent began scolding and pushing him under another black umbrella, merging with the masses. He closed the window with a firm snap and closed his eyes for a few seconds only to open them with the Sharingan in play. The memories were placed back the farthest portion of his mind.
